The demands facing academic public health continue to evolve, making well-being an essential component of effective leadership rather than an individual responsibility alone. On Tuesday, July 14, from 3:00 – 4:00 PM ET, ASPPH Presents will host Faculty & Practitioner Well-Being: From Burnout to Balance, a timely webinar exploring practical strategies for navigating uncertainty, managing change, and fostering sustainable well-being across academic and practice settings. The session will provide participants with evidence-informed tools to strengthen resilience, enhance self-leadership, and better navigate today’s rapidly changing professional environment.
Leadership strategist and Fiercely Joyful author Natasha “Tash” Durkins will present neuroscience-informed approaches to regulating the nervous system, reducing the energy drain associated with ambiguity, and distinguishing between systemic challenges beyond one’s control and the areas where individuals can make meaningful progress. Participants will also explore the concept of the “Responsibility Trap,” the pattern of burnout that can emerge when professionals devote their energy to solving systemic issues that cannot be addressed by any one individual.
Designed for faculty, practitioners, staff, administrators, and students, the session will provide practical, actionable strategies that participants can immediately apply in their professional and personal lives. Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of their own energy drains and restorers, along with concrete tools to navigate change with greater clarity, steadiness, and purpose.
ASPPH encourages members to register and share this opportunity with colleagues across their institutions.
