Faculty & Practitioner Well-Being: From Burnout to Balance

July 14 @ 3:00 pm 4:00 pm

Join ASPPH Presents for a timely webinar on navigating the heavy “change load” facing academic public health and moving from burnout to balance. This session will provide an overview of well-being not as a luxury, but as a critical leadership discipline, offering an alternative to standard messages of “resilience” during periods of systemic turbulence. Speaker Natasha “Tash” Durkins will discuss neuroscience-backed strategies to regulate the nervous system, reduce the energy drain of ambiguity, and distinguish between the systemic issues professionals must navigate and the specific areas where they can reclaim control.

Designed for faculty, practitioners, staff, administrators, and students, the webinar will offer practical insights and concrete tools to help professionals escape the “Responsibility Trap”—the burnout that accelerates when we exhaust ourselves trying to fix systemic challenges we cannot control, rather than redirecting our energy to the areas where we can drive real impact. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of their personal energy drains and restorers, along with actionable self-leadership skills to navigate a rapidly changing environment with steadiness rooted in agency.
