ASPPH invites members, faculty, students, and public health professionals to participate in two upcoming virtual events exploring the responsible and practical use of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic public health. Taking place on October 26 and 29, these sessions will examine how AI can support public health research, improve access to trusted data, and inform real-world public health practice.
Monday, October 26 | 1:00–2:00 PM ET
This roundtable will explore how AI can help researchers and public health professionals access and interact with authoritative public health data while maintaining research integrity. Featuring Kevin Hobbie and Madeleine Short Fabic of ICF, the session will include a demonstration of how AI-enabled tools can connect users with trusted data sources, highlighting opportunities for more efficient research alongside considerations for data validation, transparency, and human oversight. The demonstrations will be followed by breakout discussions to foster peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, open dialogue, and collaborative learning.
