From Data to Dialogue: Connecting Data Users to Authoritative Public Health Data with AI
October 26 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

How can AI make authoritative public health data easier to explore without compromising research integrity? This ASPPH virtual AI roundtable will examine emerging approaches for connecting AI assistants directly to trusted public health data sources, using the Demographic & Health Survey (DHS) Program’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementation as a real-world example. In the context of a live demonstration, participants will explore data readiness, provenance, reproducibility, validation, and human oversight, and discuss what these emerging architectures could mean for public health research and practice while keeping responsible and ethical use of AI at the forefront.
