Last week, ASPPH’s leadership team met with Dr. Leandris Liburd, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Office of Health Equity (OHE). The meeting included discussions around potential partnerships between ASPPH and OHE. Dr. Liburd outlined the CDC’s five priorities within OHE many of which match ASPPH’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice (DEIJ) areas of focus and create a nexus for collaboration.
The CDC’s five priorities are:
- Establishing a health equity strategic framework for the CDC
- Funding for health equity
- Community engagement
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Science and intervention
