Seeking University Students and Career Counselors for Focus Group

Seeking University Students and Career Counselors for Focus Group

The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health’s Center for Public Health Systems (CPHS) invite university students and career counselors to participate in an Institutional Review Board-approved, voluntary research interview to better understand the needs and practices of local health departments (LHDs) related to recruitment and retention.

This study is being conducted by Drs. Chelsey Kirkland and JP Leider at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in collaboration with Ashley Edmiston at NACCHO. Participation includes completing a focus group session and as a thank you, participants will receive a $25 gift card (via Giftogram).

Focus Group Eligibility. Anyone who is a current student (high school through doctorate) or current career counselor; is 18 years of age or older; can read English; and has access to Zoom is eligible to participate. For more information, please contact Chelsey Kirkland at ckirk@umn.edu or Ashley Edmiston at AEdmiston@naccho.org

Online Recruitment Survey. Those interested in participating in either an interview or focus group, should complete the Online Recruitment Survey. The survey will take about 2-5 minutes to complete and responses will be confidential and only team members will have access. [If the Online Recruitment Survey link does not work, please type the following link into your internet browser: z.umn.edu/CCStudentFG.]

Follow-Up. After the recruitment survey is completed, you will receive an email from a NACCHO team member (within 2 days) on whether or not you have been selected for an interview or focus group based on their study selection criteria.
