The ASPPH IDEA Institute’s Transforming Academia for Equity (TAE) webinar series concludes on Wednesday, July 15, with its final session, Implementing and Sustaining the Work. This interactive webinar will focus on one of the most important challenges facing institutions today: turning equity-centered commitments into sustainable, long-term practice. Participants will gain practical strategies and evidence-informed approaches to help advance meaningful change within their schools, programs, and organizations.
Grounded in the third phase of the Learning and Transformation Change Framework (LTCF), the session will explore how institutions move from engagement to implementation through reflective learning, continuous improvement, and sustained action. Representatives from the University of Southern California and Oregon State University will share lessons from their own Transforming Academia for Equity journeys, highlighting the development of community-engaged research centers, Communities of Practice, and mentorship initiatives that have helped embed equity into institutional culture.
Designed to move beyond discussion, the webinar includes an interactive exercise that will help participants identify realistic, incremental actions they can take within their own sphere of influence. Attendees will leave with a framework for translating ideas into achievable next steps, building momentum through practical actions that support lasting institutional change.
Faculty, administrators, and institutional leaders will gain strategies for embedding equity into everyday practice while developing concrete plans to strengthen their own organizations. Participants are also eligible to receive one hour of continuing education credit through the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE).
ASPPH encourages members to register for this concluding session and complete the TAE series with actionable tools that can be applied immediately.
