Strengthening Our Field: ASPPH Welcomes Three New Deans This Fall

ASPPH looks forward to welcoming three new deans to our academic public health community later this fall. Dr. Kelly Gebo (George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health), Dr. Adnan Hyder (Boston University School of Public Health), and Dr. Keshia Pollack Porter (Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health) bring exceptional expertise across diverse areas, including global health, health equity, data science, policy, and systems leadership.

These appointments reflect a continued investment in strong, visionary leadership across academic public health. Their collective experience will be instrumental in advancing our shared mission of improving health and achieving equity through education, research, and practice.

Dr. Kelly Gebo, who will become the next Michael and Lori Milken Dean at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health in October, is a physician-leader known for her work in data-informed policy and addressing health disparities.

Dr. Adnan Hyder will become the Robert A. Knox Professor and the next dean of the Boston University School of Public Health. A global health scholar and academic leader, he brings extensive experience in ethics, health systems, and injury prevention.

Dr. Keshia Pollack Porter will assume the deanship at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health this month, bringing a distinguished background in equity, policy translation, and public health impact.

We look forward to welcoming Drs. Gebo, Hyder, and Pollack Porter to our membership and working with these accomplished leaders to further strengthen the academic public health enterprise.
