Lead, Data Architecture and Business Intelligence

Frank Smith is Lead, Data Architecture and Business Intelligence (BI) at the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH). In this role, Frank ensures ASPPH has the infrastructure, resources, and skills and abilities needed to deliver high quality data to our members and other stakeholders. Frank leads the ASPPH Data Governance Program which oversees the management of all enterprise data as a strategic asset. He works closely with his colleagues to ensure members have access to the best academic public health analytics.


Frank provides leadership in the area of business intelligence to ensure strategic decisions are driven and informed by data. His vision is to use data to bolster ASPPH's outputs and overall organizational impact. Frank believes effective business intelligence should conjure excitement, thoughtfulness, and joy about possibilities for the future.


Frank has presented at multiple institutional research and academic public health conferences. He loves learning about new ways to leverage data. Frank is excited for a future where machines perform all of the hard labor involving data, providing humans with more time to thoughtfully contemplate data’s meaning and use them to improve the world around them.
