Opportunity to Join MEDICC Visit to Cuba

Hey folks!

Many of you may know that for the past dozen or so years, I have been part of an organization (MEDICC) that, among other things, organizes and hosts week-long visits to Cuba. Our ultimate aim is to create informed ambassadors for Cuba – U.S. citizens who experience life in Cuba and can speak to what Cuba has to offer. The visits I lead are focused on gaining an understanding of the Cuban health system – a fully integrated public health and healthcare system that has achieved remarkable results especially relevant to its spending per person (especially compared to the U.S.). Through direct engagement with the various levels of the health system, visitors also get to see what is special and perhaps what can’t simply be copied – the spirit of the Cuban people themselves.

The attached invitation letter provides a bit more context for my next upcoming visit, scheduled for January 31-February 5, 2027. I would love for you to consider participating. You do not have to be a “health” person to be a part of this trip; rather, we look for participants who are willing and able to open themselves up to learning about Cuban people and their cultures. I will be more than happy to jump on a call with you if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity.

Kind regards, Paul Erwin
