2026 ASPPH District Advocacy Day
August 1 – August 31

Join the 2026 ASPPH District Advocacy Day This August
Connect with your federal elected officials in your district this August to help elevate the impact of academic public health.
This August, ASPPH invites member schools and programs of public health and community members to participate in District Advocacy Day by engaging with their federal elected officials during the congressional August district work period.
How to Participate
As Members of Congress return to their home districts and states, this is an ideal opportunity to showcase the impact of academic public health and strengthen relationships with policymakers. These opportunities include:
- Hosting a site visit for your Representative, Senators, or congressional staff to showcase your school or program’s impact.
- Meeting with your congressional office in your district or state to discuss your institution’s contributions to public health.
This engagement helps demonstrate the vital role schools and programs of public health play in educating the future workforce, advancing research, and improving the health of communities nationwide.
Share Your Story
To support your outreach, ASPPH will provide advocacy resources and guidance in the coming weeks. We also look forward to highlighting member participation through our newsletters, website, and social media channels to showcase the collective impact of our academic public health community.
This invitation is exclusively for Deans and Directors, but we encourage you to include faculty and students in these activities. Please work with your government relations staff to coordinate and plan your site visits or meetings with congressional offices in your district or state.
ASPPH will provide an advocacy training call on Monday, July 27th from 1:00 – 2:00 PM ET, along with resources in the coming weeks. A calendar invite for the training call will be sent to your email after you RSVP.
