Earlier this month, ASPPH joined the American Council on Education (ACE) and over 60 higher education organizations in signing a unified statement reaffirming the essential partnership between the federal government and US colleges and universities. The statement urges national leaders to resist political interference that threatens institutional autonomy, academic freedom, and the diverse campus communities that define American higher education.

The coalition expresses deep concern over recent federal actions that withhold funding and impose political conditions on universities—measures that undermine institutions’ lawful rights to determine their admissions policies, curricula, and academic priorities. The signatories advocate for a renewed commitment to collaboration in support of education, research, and social progress.
