It was inspiring and heartwarming to see the over 12,000 attendees—all public health warriors—in person at the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Expo earlier this week.
Thank you to our deans and program directors who attended, presented, and exchanged knowledge with our peers. From sessions covering the public health workforce, messaging and explaining public health in a climate of misinformation, and Framing the Future 2030, to assembly and business meetings, poster sessions, and sponsoring APHA’s Academic and Practice Linkages in Public Health (APLPH) Caucus, ASPPH proudly represented the vital work of academic public health that we have all dedicated our careers to. Please enjoy our photos from APHA.
We would also like to congratulate Dr. Perry Halkitis, Dean & Hunterdon Professor, Rutgers School of Public Health, who received the 2024 Helen Rodriguez-Trias Social Justice Award, and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health’s Dr. Elaine Abrams, MD, a professor of pediatrics and epidemiology at ICAP, who was one of two winners of the 2024 Martha May Eliot Award.
