ASPPH Awarded CDC Grant to Strengthen Public Health Systems with a Focus on Tribal Health Departments

ASPPH is honored to be one of 48 recipients of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Partners Cooperative Agreement, Strengthening Public Health Systems and Services through National Partnerships to Improve and Protect the Nation’s Health. ASPPH will deliver capacity-building assistance (CBA) that enables health departments to operate in a comprehensive, responsive, and effective manner.

With Tribal Health Departments as the population of focus, the ASPPH Center for Public Health Workforce Development will prioritize the following strategic areas:

  • Workforce Development – Develop and maintain a diverse workforce within the public health system with cross-cutting skills and competencies
  • Partnership Development and Engagement – Improve development and maintenance of result-driven partnerships at various levels
  • Data Modernization, Informatics, and information technology – Develop and deploy scalable, responsive, and sustainable technologies, policies, and methods to implement high-quality data and analytical capabilities to support the Essential Public Health Services (EPHS)
