ASPPH Members Awarded Funds in Support of CDC’s National DIS Certification Project

Congratulations to our members who have been awarded funding to advance the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) Certification Project. Implemented by the ASPPH Center for Public Health Workforce Development, the Certified in Disease Intervention (CDI) Program supports the CDC’s efforts to enhance public health services by certifying disease intervention professionals.

The following institutions have been awarded funding:

  • University of Minnesota Center for Public Health Systems: Partnering with Undergraduate Institution Educators to Build Pathways to Disease Intervention Certification
  • University of Utah Division of Public Health: Partnering with Community College Educators to Build Pathways to Disease Intervention Certification
  • University of Memphis School of Public Health: Partnering with High School Educators to Build Pathways to Disease Intervention Certification
  • University of South Florida College of Public Health: Developing Core Competencies for Disease Intervention Professionals
  • University of North Texas Health Science Center: Recommendations and Frameworks to Guarantee a DIS Certified Workforce
  • George Mason University College of Public Health: Disease Intervention Certification Cost Containment and Subsidization Models
