ASPPH invites you to register for Foundations of AI in Public Health Education: Concepts, Context, and Readiness, an introductory-to-intermediate online training taking place on February 18 from 12:00–1:00 PM ET. Designed as a foundation for one of our 2026 ASPPH Annual Meeting Skill-Building Workshops, the training is open to all who are interested in developing AI readiness in academic public health. The session is free for registrants of the Beyond the Basics workshop and available to others for a registration fee of $99.
As artificial intelligence continues to influence teaching, learning, and academic operations across higher education, this training is designed to support public health faculty, academic administrators, staff, students, and partners in building a shared baseline understanding of AI in academic public health.
This online training will prepare participants for ASPPH’s advanced Skill-Building Workshop (SBW), Beyond the Basics: Practical Applications of AI for Academic Public Health, which will be offered at the 2026 ASPPH Annual Meeting. The session will establish core concepts, shared vocabulary, and representative use cases related to AI in public health education, providing essential context for more advanced, hands-on exploration during the in-person workshop.
Led by Dr. C. Edward Watson, Vice President for Digital Innovation at the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), the training will explore commonly used AI tools and applications relevant to teaching, advising, assessment, and academic administration, alongside key pedagogical and ethical considerations such as academic integrity, equity, accessibility, and responsible use.
A recording and supplemental resources will be made available to registered participants through ASPPH’s eLearn platform.
