Framing the Future 2030’s Building Inclusive Excellence through An Anti-Racism Lens Report

FTF 2030 Building Inclusive Excellence through an Anti-racism Lens Transformative Action in Academic Public Health

We are excited to announce the launch of our Framing the Future 2030: Education for Public Health (FTF 2030) initiative, which represents a pivotal shift in learning and teaching public health and includes three expert panel reports –  Building Inclusive Excellence through an Anti-racism Lens, Transformative Approaches to Teaching and Learning, and Fostering Community Partnerships for a Healthier World. In each report, you will find the panels’ key recommendations and guiding questions, strategies, and examples to aid in implementation.

Today we are sharing the Executive Summary and the first report, Building Inclusive Excellence through an Anti-racism Lens, which is the cornerstone report of FTF 2030, inspiring us to weave anti-racism principles into the very fabric of our educational framework.

Historical legacies like slavery and colonization fuel exclusion, marginalization, and oppression, affecting societal and educational structures globally and disproportionately impact the health and life conditions of people of color. The Inclusive Excellence report targets these concerns in public health academia, promoting intersectionality, cultural humility, and accountability to mend structural racism with the goal of fostering equitable and inclusive environments in teaching, research, and learning.

We look forward to sharing highlights from the remaining two reports over the next few weeks and in full at our 2024 ASPPH Annual Meeting.
