ASPPH Welcomes New Staff and Interns

At ASPPH, we strive for inclusive excellence, and we are committed to finding the best possible candidates to support our work in advancing academic public health. With our dedication to ASPPH’s mission and values, we are able to attract talent from a diverse pool of applicants, allowing us to embrace the tenets of gender, racial, ethnic, and geographical representation in the workplace. We are excited to welcome three new staff and two interns to our organization this month.

Staff

  1. Miranda Bosse, Senior Manager of Educational Initiatives – Miranda will join ASPPH as the Senior Manager of Educational Initiatives and will provide oversight for Strategic Planning 2030 goals within the Academic Division and work collaboratively with all staff to assist with implementation of ASPPH Task Force initiatives, grant deliverables, and other association priorities.
  2. Darryl Greene, Interim Director of Accounting – Darryl joins ASPPH as the Interim Director of Accounting. Darryl has more than twenty years of not-for-profit finance, accounting, budgeting, auditing, sponsored projects management, and administration experience which includes more than fifteen years in senior management positions. Darryl specializes in providing innovative approaches to organizational financial management needs.
  3. Janet Walton, Director of Workforce Development – Janet will serve as senior project manager for CDC-funded projects through the ASPPH Center for Public Health Workforce Development. Janet spent the past decade working with MPH and MS public health programs at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Prior to that, she held various managerial positions in public health, including for the City of Boston’s Public Health Department.

Interns

These young professionals will work closely with our team to help improve public health. We can’t wait to share with you the important work they will do throughout the summer.

Zhara Edwards, Case Western Reserve University – As the External Relations and Advocacy intern, she will be assisting with ASPPH’s policy agenda, marketing campaigns, and communications activities. She will also support implementation efforts under ASPPH’s Gun Violence Prevention initiative which was launched last summer.
  2. Emilio Estrada, University of California, San Diego – As the Educational Pathways Intern, Emilio will be assisting with recruitment partnership programs, the Undergraduate Network, and student recruitment.
