Boston University’s School of Public Health (BU) and ASPPH’s Teaching Public Health: Health Equity for All symposium conversation is now available for viewing. This year’s focus was on health equity and explored issues raised by ASPPH’s Framing the Future: Education for Public Health 2030 and was held in person at ASPPH’s 2023 Sections Retreat.
With 1,200 participants both in-person and virtual last week, attendees from the US joined colleagues from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ethiopia, France, Grenada, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Lebanon, Malawi, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Thailand, Uganda, and the UK—proving the truly global nature of public health.
Deep thanks to the distinguished panelists: Amy Fairchild (OSU), Leah Neubauer (Northwestern), Laura Linnan (UNC), Trinidad Jackson (Louisville), Diane Marie St. George (UMSOM), Marc Kiviniemi (Kentucky), Heather Hageman (WashU), Ciearra “CJ” Walker (St. Louis Community Health Worker Coalition), and Paul Halverson (IUPUI); our co-moderator, Lisa Sullivan (BU); and Perry Halkitis (Rutgers), ASPPH’s board chair, who provided closing remarks.
