As we welcome 2025 with gratitude and resolve, please join us at our 2025 ASPPH Annual Meeting for Academic Public Health’s Friday morning plenary, Expanding the Scope of Environmental Public Health to Tackle Growing Public Health Crises. This thought-provoking session, scheduled for Friday, March 21, 2025, from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM ET, will address the critical intersection of environmental factors and public health, shedding light on how these determinants drive health disparities and impact vulnerable populations locally and globally.
From climate change and pollutant exposure to shifts in land use and biodiversity loss, major public health crises increasingly stem from environmental determinants. These challenges disproportionately affect the most vulnerable among us, whether in urban neighborhoods or rural communities. The plenary will explore how expanding the scope of environmental public health can empower the public health workforce and enable true primary prevention, fostering equitable health outcomes for all.
