What inspired you to study public health? 

I wanted to play a part in improving health outcomes at a population level and I thought public health would be a great field to equip me with the tools to start.

What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far? 

The most rewarding experience has been receiving opportunities to be apart of research in the public health field and contributing to studies that will have a positive impact on the lives of others around me.

Where did you do your practicum? What was it about? 

I completed my practicum at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (FIU) in the department medical and population health sciences education and research. I was able to design and carry out an epidemiologic study, and present my research findings.

What do you hope to accomplish in your career? 

I hope to continue my career as an epidemiologist engaging in scientific research.

Advice: 

Get practical experience in your area of interest through internships. Seek out opportunities where you will be able to apply what you have learned.
