Kristen Gwaltney

What inspired you to study public health?

I fell in love with public health in my very first foundations of public health course during undergrad. Since then, I’ve become passionate and inspired to help communities adopt healthier lifestyles, gain access to lifesaving care and services, and become educated on health topics that impact themselves and their communities.

What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far?

Working for the CDC Foundation and being a fellow for the Maternal and Child Health Bureau in the Maryland Department of Health. I was able to support the transition of the Maryland School Based Health Center Program and create the webpage for the program.
