Brad Wang, PhD candidate

Texas A&M School of Public Health
Health Services Research - Health Economics

What inspired you to study public health?

Seeing the profound reach and substantial effects that public health can have across all environments and the individuals that reside within them

What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far?

Being able to see the positive impacts of my efforts that touch and benefit the lives of those who are consistently disadvantaged and faced with various health-related disparities.

What do you hope to accomplish in your career?

I hope to continue working towards my goal of consistently identifying ways to amplify the needs of those faced with disparities and being a channel for them to voice their concerns.

One piece of advice that I wish someone had given to me is to not be afraid of exploring the vast areas and subjects that lay with the field of public health. Public health is a massive area of work that will always have connections with other disciplines, so being open to everything will help provide the greatest degree of exposure. Moreover, it is a field that is always growing, therefore, it helps to be welcoming to any and all work.
