Ashtyn Nichols, MPH

San Diego State University School of Public Health
Health Promotion & Behavioral Science

What inspired you to study public health?

When I learned that there was a field that sought to address the root causes of health and wellness – it really inspired me to get involved. I’ve always been involved and interested in philanthropy and I like to approach nonprofit work with a public health lens.

What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far?

I love San Diego State University and I love the School of Public Health. After getting my bachelor’s degree here, it’s been so rewarding to come back as a master’s student and assist in the administration of the undergraduate program. It’s extremely exciting to help other young people who are eager to jump into this field, just as I was when I started out.
