We look forward to seeing our members and other public health professionals at the American Public Health Association’s 2024 Annual Meeting in Minneapolis (October 27-30). Please find a list of sessions hosted by the Academic and Practice Linkages in Public Health (APLPH) Caucus, proudly sponsored by ASPPH, in partnership with the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) and the Public Health Foundation (PHF).
The APLPH Caucus has an exciting lineup of oral and poster sessions, covering topics such as workforce recruitment, retention, and training needs, leadership development, academic health department models, Framing the Future 2030, and more.
We’re also excited to partner with the Ethics Section to organize a session on a timely topic: the Ethical Challenges of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) in Public Health Practice.
In partnership with the University of Minnesota School of Public Health’s Center for Public Health Systems, the APLPH Caucus is also hosting an Academic Health Department Networking Luncheon on October 28, 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM. This luncheon will immediately follow the APLPH Caucus’ Academic Health Department Roundtable session and will allow for further networking and collaboration. Tickets for the luncheon are $20 and include a boxed lunch and are available for purchase until October 21, 2024. You can purchase your ticket for the event during the registration process. If you’ve already registered, you can still log back into your account and purchase a ticket. If you have questions, please contact Jordan Fox.
We also hope to see you at the Caucus’ Conversations and Coffee business meeting on October 28, 7:00 AM—8:00 AM. At this meeting, we will strategize with Caucus members and interested parties about engagement opportunities within the APLPH Caucus outside of the APHA Annual Meeting. Coffee and a light breakfast will be served. We hope to see you there.
