March 30, 2023 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Tune into the Global Health Series on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. ET, to hear from Rodrigo Puentes, Biostatistician at the Institute of Public Health of Chile, as he presents on The Climate Change and Health Initiative: Perspectives from the Institute of Public Health of Chile.

Learning objectives:

– Explain the indirect impact of current and projected climate variability in the context of Climate Change on population health in Chile.
– Provide arguments regarding the importance of technical scientific information to the national entities in charge of coordinating, planning, and developing programs and action plans on Climate Change through meteorological/epidemiological surveillance, the anticipation of scenarios for infectious diseases, distribution of vectors in the country, and publication of scientific evidence.
– Present the initial stage of a Climate Change and Health dashboard based on Shigella spp. surveillance data consolidated at the Institute of Public Health of Chile.
– The Global Health Series is a monthly virtual series that brings together champions in global health science and strategy. The series is hosted by the Department of Global Health at Florida International University.
