As we approach the Fall Presidential election, we explored the critical connection between voting and public health. This event, part of a series, highlighted ASPPH’s Voting is Public Health campaign and discussed the significant impact of civic engagement on health outcomes. Our panelists shared their experiences and strategies for promoting voter participation within the academic public health community and combatting mis and disinformation.
The discussion focused on the link between voting and health outcomes, highlighting how voting influences public health policies. It will also explored efforts by ASPPH members to promote civic engagement and its positive impact on community health. Additionally, an overview from Healthy Democracy, Healthy People provided insights into enhancing civic health. The role of public health professionals in combating misinformation and disinformation during election cycles was also examined.
This webinar is ideal for public health professionals, educators, students, and anyone interested in the intersection of voting and health and how to combat mis and disinformation during elections. Learn how you can contribute to healthier communities through civic engagement.
