CEPH Accepting Comments on Revisions to Accreditation Procedures through November 21, 2024

The Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) has identified the need for greater clarity in its Accreditation Procedures, with updates focused on three key areas. CEPH welcomes public comments on these proposed changes until Thursday, November 21, 2024. A marked-up version of the document, reflecting these proposed revisions, can be found here.

Three Key Areas:

  1. Voluntary withdrawal from CEPH accreditation – This includes cases where a program plans to close.
  2. Decisions to remove a full degree from the unit of accreditation—This specifically applies to PHP or SBP programs wishing to remove a degree, not a concentration, from their accreditation.
  3. Defining the unit of accreditation for Standalone Baccalaureate Programs (SBPs)—The language has been updated to clarify the distinction between SBP and SPH categories.

These changes will not require action from currently accredited units or applicants unless they intend to make changes in line with the first two points above.

Remember to submit comments by November 21, 2024.
