ASPPH Welcomes Three New Academic Public Health Leaders

ASPPH is delighted to welcome three recently appointed deans and program directors who bring exceptional leadership and expertise to the academic public health community. We welcome Dr. Douglas Leslie, Professor and Chair of Public Health Sciences at Pennsylvania State University Public Health Program; Dr. Melody Goodman, who has been named Dean of the New York University School of Global Public Health; and Dr. Darline K. El Reda, newly appointed Director of the Master of Public Health Program and Associate Chair of Education at the Michigan State University MPH Program.

Dr. Douglas Leslie, Professor and Chair of Public Health Sciences at Pennsylvania State University Public Health Program, is a distinguished researcher whose work focuses on health economics and outcomes research. He has played a key role in advancing population health initiatives and fostering collaborations across disciplines to address complex health challenges.

Dr. Melody Goodman, Dean of the New York University School of Global Public Health, is a nationally recognized biostatistician and health disparities scholar committed to using data-driven approaches to advance health equity and build stronger community-academic partnerships.

Dr. Darline K. El Reda, Director of the Master of Public Health Program, is an applied public health practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience spanning health departments and the private sector and brings deep expertise in healthcare claims data, program evaluation, and value‑based care.

We look forward to their leadership in advancing ASPPH’s shared mission to improve health for all.
