ASPPH Welcomes New Deans and Program Directors

ASPPH is delighted to welcome three outstanding leaders who have recently stepped into new roles across our academic public health community: Dr. Damaskini (Dania) Valvi, Director of Graduate Education in Public Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Graduate Program in Public Health; Dr. Martha Wojtowycz, Director of the SUNY Upstate Medical University Public Health Program; and Dr. Sarah Woodrum, Dean of the West Virginia University School of Public Health.

Dr. Dania Valvi brings her expertise in environmental epidemiology to her new role at Mount Sinai, where she will lead graduate education efforts to prepare the next generation of public health professionals.

Dr. Martha Wojtowycz, a longtime leader in health services research and public health education, will guide the SUNY Upstate Medical University Public Health Program in advancing innovative teaching and community-focused scholarship.

Dr. Sarah Woodrum, a respected health policy and management scholar, will serve as Dean of the West Virginia University School of Public Health, bringing a deep commitment to equity, health leadership, and community partnerships.

We look forward to their leadership in advancing our shared mission.
