Last week, ASPPH’s President and CEO, Dr. Laura Magaña, attended and spoke on behalf of ASPPH at the inaugural summit Catalyzing Interdisciplinary Innovation in Public Health Technology, hosted by Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences. Dr. Magaña addressed the critical need for integrating technology and digital competencies into public health education.
She also emphasized the importance of embracing innovation and technology in health professionals’ education, ensuring our graduates develop the necessary digital and technological competencies to create and implement intersectoral public health solutions and interventions.
Our academic programs must be agile, staying at the forefront of innovation to effectively prepare students to leverage technology, AI, and other advances to enhance population health and well-being. ASPPH’s participation in events like this is crucial for academic public health as it underscores our commitment to leading and shaping the future of public health education.
