ASPPH Members Among Founding Inductees of NAP’s New Public Health Academy

New Public Health Academy Members Inducted into NAP

The National Academies of Practice (NAP), an interprofessional organization dedicated to advancing health and well-being through collaborative practice, formally inducted the 30 founding members of its new Public Health Academy during their recent 2025 Annual Meeting and Forum in Washington, DC held March 13-15. Among the inductees were several long-time ASPPH members.

ASPPH Members inducted included Dr. Perry Halkitis, Dean & Hunterdon Professor, Rutgers School of Public Health and Dr. Lisa Benz Scott, Executive Director and Professor, Stony Brook University Program in Public Health.

ASPPH also extends our warmest congratulations and deep gratitude to Dr. Neil Maniar, Director, Master of Public Health Program and Professor of Practice, Northeastern University Bouvé College of Health Sciences, who was appointed by the NAP Council for 2025 as the inaugural chair of the Public Health Academy. Dr. Maniar’s visionary leadership and tireless efforts were instrumental in establishing this academy, paving the way for greater integration of public health within the interprofessional health landscape.
