ASPPH Highlights Voting is Public Health Campaign at Civic Health Champions Meeting

ASPPH Presents Voting is Public Health Campaign at Civic Health Champions Meeting

At ASPPH, we are dedicated to strengthening civic participation and improving public health, as demonstrated by our ongoing partnership with the Healthy Democracy, Healthy People coalition and our participation in their Thrive Through Civic Health: We Will Vote initiative.

Last week Beeta Rasouli, ASPPH’s Director of Advocacy and Federal Affairs, presented our Voting is Public Health campaign at the Civic Health Champions Meeting hosted by the We Will Vote initiative. ASPPH’s efforts were highlighted as a national leader in raising awareness of why voting matters for public health and for empowering civic engagement within the academic public health community. As the campaign season heats up, now is a great time to encourage voting in your community.

Nearly 60 organizational champions have committed to the We Will Vote initiative to promote civic participation with their members and employees. We also encourage all to utilize our Voting is Public Health guide and help demonstrate how voting directly impacts public health outcomes by shaping policies that address social determinants of health such as employment, housing, education, and environmental quality.
