The American Heart Association (AHA) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) are jointly funding the Health Equity Research Network (HERN) on Community-Driven Research Approaches. This initiative aims to address the root causes of health disparities by promoting meaningful community engagement and innovative research strategies.
With the objective of establishing new models for community-driven research that can lead to systemic changes in health research practices, this initiative represents a significant step towards advancing health equity and fostering collaboration between communities and researchers to address health disparities effectively.
Two distinct funding opportunities are available:
- Partner Hub: Designed to support community-based organizations and academic institutions collaborating on research projects.
- Community Engagement Resource Center (CERC): Focuses on building capacity, providing training, and facilitating collaboration across Partner Hubs.
Pre-proposals for both funding opportunities are due by March 26 and March 28, 2024, respectively.
