What really inspired me to be in public health is that I lost my father when I was in a medical school, and the first thing came to my mind is not to let everybody die… and until I realized that public health actually can help me reach the populations rather than individual care… and I wanted to make a difference at a larger scale and to more focus on prevention and promotion rather than just taking care of the patients… not that that is not important but how do we really help people get prevented from the disease before it’s even happening? So, I think that was a turning point in my career to really make a difference to people before even they get sick, and I think that was a very big turning point for me to move into my public health career.
