The definition of science is what? Science is magic but it’s real, so we take magic. We get that aspiration of what could be, but it’s based on reality, and I think our role in academic public health is to make sure we design the science… we design the research to answer those questions. Our obligation is to go out there and to speak the truth and then, more importantly, or just as important, is to be humble about it when we don’t know the truth… when there are unanswered questions at this point. So, to a large extent we have an important role in terms of the shaping of policy because policy should really stem from science and fact-based information.
