I thought I wanted to be a doctor, which is the story of many people in public health right… and I actually did not want to be… I was interested in the social side of medicine. I didn’t know public health was the name of what I was looking for… and my senior year of college, someone who had graduated already, I happened to see them and they were getting their MPH, which is how I discovered it was even a thing…and I remember going through my program and I was like “This is it”. I love that I get to do this work. It is like, how could you not like helping? It’s not even helping people – its equipping people to help themselves… and it is like the privilege of working alongside communities to improve their health whatever that means to them
