The 2023 Call for Nominations for the Gilbert S. Omenn Fellowship at the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) is currently open until 3:00 PM ET on Thursday, June 1. This part-time, two-year fellowship offers a unique leadership development opportunity for talented, early-career physician-scientists combining biomedical research, public health, and clinical medicine to get directly involved in health- and medicine-related work of the NAM and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
Through the fellowship, the Omenn Fellow learns various perspectives of studying healthcare challenges from a wide range of disciplines and viewpoints in developing sound strategies and policies and will network with experts and leaders in health and medicine. The program includes:
- A flexible research grant of $25,000
- Additional funds to cover domestic travel expenses for participation in approved fellowship activities
- Mentorship by a NAM member
