The 2023 ASPPH Annual Meeting began on Wednesday, March 16 with an opening plenary by Dr. Stephen Brookfield who inspired the audience to think critically about the dominant ideologies they have internalized and how these can impede progress in higher education for the instructor and the learner.
Thursday’s plenary was an invigorating talk by Dr. Sacoby Wilson on pandemic resilience and realities from the perspective of an environmental health scientist and environmental Justice activist. And today’s two plenaries cover the current public health disinformation crisis as seen through the lens of two highly regarded experts in investigative journalism, and public health leadership for creating healthy longevity as presented in a recent report from the National Academy of Medicine.
While our 2023 Annual Meeting ends later today, we are so grateful to the nearly 700 attendees who were able to join us in prioritizing academic public health to learn and share knowledge with their peers from around the world.
