1.       In one sentence, what is public health to you?

Public health is the persistent pursuit of obtaining a healthy environment and population while eliminating health disparities and inequities surrounding them.

2.       What inspired you to study public health?

My undergraduate mentor and advisor inspired me to study public health.

3.       What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far?

The most rewarding experience has been becoming aware of a different view of medicine regarding our entire country and world. And learning how health disparities and inequities continue the cycle of sickness, poverty, and mortality.

4.       What is the one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you were starting out in public health?

I wish someone would have told me to get involved in your community, you can help induce change even if it is just for one person.

5.       What do you think is the biggest challenge that the public health field should be focusing on?

The biggest challenge public health should be focusing on is education.
