What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far?
Working with the Center’s for Disease Control and Prevention has been one of my most rewarding experiences because of all the connections I was able to make. Through the organization, I was able to meet and connect with various public health scholars from an array of areas of expertise. My interactions with patients also shaped my perspective on the importance of public health as well as health care as a whole and inspired me to pursue a graduate degree in health administration.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that the public health field should be focusing on?
Currently, the field of public health faces several challenges and should be focusing on addressing obstacles that revolve around prescription drug overdose, mental health, as well as access to health care.
