Kaitlin Tager, MPH, CHES, serves as the Senior Manager of Workforce Development and Applied Practice at ASPPH. In this role, she advances initiatives that aim to recruit, train, and retain a diverse and skilled public health workforce. Kaitlin leads the management, implementation, and evaluation of projects within the ASPPH Center for Public Health Workforce Development, including federally funded efforts to strengthen the public health pathways and enhance infrastructure, workforce capacity, and data systems nationwide. She also contributes to grant compliance reporting to ensure alignment with federal requirements and maintain accountability across funded initiatives. Kaitlin also co-leads the Academic-Practice Linkages in Public Health Caucus of the American Public Health Association (APHA), fostering collaboration between public health academia and practice. Through this leadership role, she helps promote innovation, research, and shared learning that supports a robust evidence base for public health practice and education.

Prior to joining ASPPH, Kaitlin spent over nine years in governmental and non-profit public health roles. Most recently, she served as the Program Evaluator for both the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program and the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. There, she deepened her expertise in federal grants management, program implementation, and evaluation—skills she brings to her current work at ASPPH. Kaitlin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Anthropology from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Community Health Education from San Jose State University. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
