Last week, ASPPH President and CEO Dr. Laura Magaña represented ASPPH and spoke remotely at the Second International Forum to Implement the World Health Organization (WHO) Roadmap on Public Health and Emergency Workforce: Competence-based Education, hosted by Zhejiang University School of Public Health.
Inspired to witness the progress being made in implementing the WHO workforce roadmap, which ASPPH endorsed in 2022, Dr. Magaña addressed two principles of the WHO roadmap: competency-based education and the essential public health functions, and inclusion and opportunities in CEPH accreditation criteria.
She also presented the key recommendations and calls to action from ASPPH’s Framing the Future reports – Building Inclusive Excellence through an Anti-racism Lens, Transformative Approaches to Teaching and Learning, and Fostering Community Partnerships for a Healthier World.
