Linda Taliaferro, MHCM, CAE

Chief Operating Officer

Ms. Linda Taliaferro, MHCM, CAE is a certified association executive with over 15 years of executive leadership experience in large and small non-profit associations. She is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health.

In early 2021, Ms. Taliaferro established Iron Cutter Consulting, a firm specializing in providing interim CEO/Executive Director services to associations undergoing chief staff officer transitions. Her clients included the American String Teachers Association and the National Communication Association.

A passionate student of the intersections of environment/community, health, healthcare quality, and outcomes, Ms. Taliaferro‘s previous roles included serving as Chief Executive Officer at the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons in Alexandria, VA, Executive Director for the Emergency Department Practice Management Association in McLean, VA, Senior Director of Health Policy at the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in Alexandria, VA, and Senior Staff Associate at the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, DC.

Her previous roles have provided Ms. Taliaferro with expertise in budgeting and finance, strategic planning, membership, meetings/events, non-profit law, coalitions, advocacy, marketing, human resources, and governance.

She holds a Master’s in Health Care Management from Marymount University and a Bachelor’s in Management from Stetson University.

In her free time, Ms. Taliaferro enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, painting, horseback riding, and volunteering with a local animal rescue group.
