West Virginia: Holds Inaugural Symposium to Bring Evidence-based Opioid Policy to the State

West Virginia University and partners throughout the state hosted the West Virginia Policy and Research Engagement Symposium in an effort to develop an action plan to bring evidence-based opioid policy to the state.

West Virginia University School of Public Health assistant professor Dr. Lindsay Allen led the efforts to organize the first-time, multi-day event, held Nov. 19-20.

The Symposium brought together lawmakers, researchers, treatment providers, public health officials, insurance providers and others from across the state and nation at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, West Virginia, in an attempt to bridge the gap between lawmakers and health-care practitioners and researchers.
