In a little over a year, Americans will elect our next president, and Democrats are hard at work narrowing down whom they will be their candidate. As Democratic primary debates continue, candidates have focused on major issues, including health care. We sat down with health policy experts Dr. Timothy Callaghan, and Dr. Michael Morrisey, both with the Texas A&M School of Public Health, to break down the various Democratic proposals for health care reform and implications for each. Dr, Callaghan is a political scientist and assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Dr. Morrisey is an economist and professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Here’s what they know so far.
