Texas A&M Student Receives Texas Health Resources Scholarship

Mr. Mark Nwokocha, a graduate student in the epidemiology and biostatistics department at the Texas A&M School of Public Health, has been awarded the Gerry Gunnin, PhD, Public Health Memorial Fellowship from Texas Health Resources. The recipient of the Gunnin Fellowship receives a $10,000 tuition award. Additionally, the selected fellow receives a $5,000 internship with the Texas Health Resources Community Health Improvement Department.

Dr. Gerry C. Gunnin, served as president of the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation and vice president of the Community Health Improvement Department for Texas Health Resources from 1995-2001. The fellowship is a tribute established to honor the late Dr. Gunnin’s leadership and to continue a legacy of advancement in community health improvement activities.
