What has been the single most rewarding experience of your career/studies so far?

I have had many rewarding experiences in my career so far, including my studies and various career paths. I think the most formative have been my previous career as an elementary school teacher, and more importantly, my time as a stay-at-home father has certainly been the most rewarding career experience I have had to date.

What do you think is the biggest challenge that the public health field should be focusing on?

I believe in this moment in history the most important challenge that the public health field should be focusing on is how it can evolve to have a serious impact on human rights by using research as advocacy, and taking a more formative stance in the ring of governmental policy making,  particularly in the context of im/migration, reproductive health, and education. All of these are public health issues, but  the policies concerning them are often not driven by public health professionals nor the evidence produced by them.
