Congratulations to Ms. Audrey Roman, a senior in the University of Nevada, Reno School of Community Health Sciences, who earned the Service Learning Award for her partnership with the Rwandan non-profit organization, Hand in Hand for Albinism, for her work in conjunction with CHS 461: The World’s Health led by Mr. Gerold Dermid, the Director of the Nevada Public Health Training Center. In her project, Audrey worked with Hand in Hand, which bridges the societal gaps and stigmas associated with albinism in Rwanda. Roman’s project not only helped further the cause of spreading awareness and educating individuals, but also developed a self-sustaining social media campaign for donations.
