Johns Hopkins: Alumna Named Inaugural Dean of Lehigh’s College of Health

Dr. Whitney Witt, an alumna of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, has been named the inaugural dean of Lehigh University’s College of Health. Dr. Witt received her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the school in 1997 and completed her PhD in the school’s department of health policy and management in 2001.

In her new role, she will lead the development of the new college which is set to open in the fall of 2020. She assumed the position on January 31.

Most recently, Dr. Witt served as director of the Center for Maternal and Child Health Research at IBM Watson Health, the division of IBM that leverages advanced technology to help improve health outcomes and systems for hospitals and patients, as well as providers, insurers and researchers. She has for the past four years also held an adjunct faculty appointment at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

Previously, she held faculty positions at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and the Northwestern University School of Medicine.
